Our family shares the sad news of Ann's ("Cookie") peaceful passing on Friday morning, August 26th, 2022, at the McGill University Health Centre. Cookie was the eldest daughter of the late Moe and the late Rhoda (Bessner) Hoppenheim. Ann, a devoted Mother and Mother-in-law, is survived by her loving son Brad (Sue Younglai) and Michael (Laurie Musgrave). She was doting Grammie-Ann to Olivia, Nicholas and Zachary. Missing a trailblazing sister and sister-in-law are Howard Hoppenheim and Arlene Lutter, Donna Hoppenheim, and Maxine and Jeff Parkovnick. She loved her nieces Martine, Megan, Meredith, her nephew Jonathan, and their partners and families. Former colleagues and students at Venture High School and Options High School will remember her fondly. We are grateful for Ann's dear friends, Halina, Cass, Warren, Elka, Helen, Eddy, Sue & Abe, Liliana, and Laura. Our deepest gratitude to Ann's compassionate and amazing healthcare professionals at the Royal Victoria Hospital of the MUHC: Drs. Jeffrey Barkun, David Levy, Peter Metrakos, Ali Safar, Yifan Wang, Oren Zlotnick, George Zogopoulos; the team of dedicated and compassionate nurses and PABs on C-10 North, as well as the skillful Interventional Radiology team, at the MUHC.

I had the honour to live on the same circle Green/Handfield as Ann and over many, many years in the community of Dorval witnessed her involvement in various activities requiring volunteers. Wayne and I have many good memories of Ann especially when she ran the Meadowbrook School office like a tight ship. Ann was the "go-to" person if there was a problem, or you needed to see the principal asap. I have fond memories of her at many events we attended together because of our growing sons. Her garage sales with the rest of her neighbours on Green Circle were to wait for: the first Saturday in May, come rain or shine. We are very saddened to learn she has died.
